Summary : With the current owner looking towards retirement, this role will be to fill his shoes and, working with the long serving senior management team, manage and shape the next chapters of this well established and respected manufacturing company

About the role

Beloved Orange is a design and manufacture company that has been established for over for 25 years.  We offer a “one stop shop” for clients, across a wide range of industry sectors, requiring fulfillment of custom made and one-off manufacturing projects.  Industry sectors served include signage, shopfitting, architectural, visual merchandising, film and television, and events management

The operation is well equipped with laser cutters, CNC routers, a paint shop and full fabrication facilities

The Beloved Orange team of nine includes two senior managers, responsible for design and development, and production management respectively.  Both have been with the company for over 20 years.  The direct production staff average over eight years of service each

The owner is planning to progressively step back from their business management role, with a view to retirement in the next year.  The successful business manager candidate will be fully supported and trained by the owner during this transition phase.   The owner plans to continue in a support role after retirement

This role will give the opportunity to build on the experience and stability of the company, and, through the lens of fresh eyes, develop and shape the future business operation and direction

Key responsibilities

• Work within the senior management team in the smooth running of business operations
• Develop close “first point of contact” working relationships with existing key accounts
• Provide accurate and timely costings and quotes for client projects
• Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through the active pursuit of business opportunities with new and existing clients
• Monitor and report on high level financial and business KPIs and metrics

Skills and Experience

• Proven track record in a Business Manager role
• Experience within the signage industry preferred but not necessary
• Experience in developing “take-offs” and project quotations from client/architectural briefs
• Broad knowledge and experience of business management and reporting, through monitoring and  interpretation of high level MYOB accounting reports
• Self-motivated to drive the business forward, and implement system improvements
